Hello! I'm Chris, the proud owner of Golden Stones for the past 20 years. My journey began in the picturesque Five Valleys of Stroud, where I grew up on a farm in Horsley / Nailsworth. It was here, amidst the rolling hills and lush landscapes, that I first fell in love with the outdoors. Whether I was building dry stone walls or tending to crops, I found joy in working with my hands and shaping the land around me.

An Unexpected Path

Life took an interesting turn when I joined the Gloucestershire Constabulary. For 19 years, I served our community, eventually becoming a Dog Handler. But my passion for landscaping never faded. In fact, it grew stronger. On my days off, I started Golden Stones, and before I knew it, we were growing faster than the gardens we tended!

My time in the police force opened my eyes to the importance of trust and quality in business. I've seen firsthand how unscrupulous traders can take advantage of vulnerable customers. That's why I made it our mission to be different. We became the first landscape gardener in Gloucestershire to be approved by Trading Standards' "Buy with Confidence" scheme. For us, it's simple: we do what we say we'll do, and we do it right.
